Abi Wallenstein
The guitarist and singer lives in Hamburg since the 1960s. Meanwhile, he is kind of a Blues-ambassador of the Hanse town. Abi’s characteristic voice has often be described as "black", to compliment his authentic approach. His powerful and touching guitar playing is well known all over Hamburg, since he loves to perform open air in pedestrial zones. Abi engages in social projects as well, e. g. with "Hinz&Kunzt" for people who live in the streets. He also travels a lot, and he has performed in most national and many international Blues festivals. From 1975 until 1980, Abi on guitar, Axel Zwingenberger on piano and Marc Fuhrhop on harp formed a session band. They performed monthly at the "Remter" and "Logo" clubs, as well as at other venues in Hamburg. Abi always had links with Boogie Woogie. He performed at The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection at the "Fabrik" with singer and harp player Henry Heggen and cajon player Martin Roettgen.
