Duffy Jackson is an extraordinary drummer from the U. S. Duffy played in Count Basie’s Orchestra as well as in "The Lionel Hampton Bigband". He met Axel Zwingenberger when the latter recorded "The Boogie Woogie Album" with Hampton, when Duffy played drums at one of the recording sessions. Duffy is the son of Chubby Jackson, legendary bass player with Woody Herman. He swings with every touch of the brushes across one of his drums. He can hold together a complete big band with his drumming, as well as a group of exuberant Boogie Woogie pianists. When he performed at the Fabrik, the audience saw him in best playing mood, and "after hours" he surprised his music colleagues with his sensitive Jazz piano playing.
