The "sunny boy" from Sylt pounds happy Blues into the piano keys. This is complimented by his rough voice which sounds like the sea. He follows his great musical idol Champion Jack Dupree, with whom he played many concerts. Jo drags his audience into his Blues world full of feeling, but always with some wit to it. Since many years, he is internationally active. Besides Vince Weber and Axel Zwingenberger, Jo is the only pianists who has participated in all The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection festivals.
Since 1988, he is part of the main ensmble of The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection.
